Meet Our Staff
Calvin Thompson
Head Coach / GM Calvin serves as Majority Owner, Head Coach and General Manager for the Sizzlers. The former Kansas Jayhawk and Topeka Sizzler (CBA) is right back at home where his Professional playing career began after being released by four different NBA teams. The combination of Helping Out Other People (HOOP) and basketball is the driving force that keeps Thompson in the game today. After his playing days, he started a youth program back in his hometown of Kansas City named HOOP Service. With his youth program being over due to graduation, he has turned his focus into helping players continue their playing days at the Semi-Professional level. |
BobbiJo Williams
Team Assistant BobbiJo is a native of the Midwest and a Kansas City resident. She is a 25 year healthcare veteran and clinical educator. BobbiJo loves the game of basketball and this community. She enjoys watching people smile and is excited about joining the Sizzlers organization and helping to bring family fun and joy to families across the community. A mother to three, she is also very active in her local church. |
Mark Trivilino
Director of Operations Mark assists with all game day activities including scorers table stats and clock. His basketball related career began as a student assistant coach at the State University of New York -College at New Paltz for both Women’s Basketball and Softball Mark earned a Master’s degree in the Administration of Social Work from Fordham University, New York. |
Stefon King
Director of Player Personnel and Assistant GM Stef works directly with the Head Coach and GM on personnel, marketing and sponsorship matters. His duties also include assisting in travel arrangements, game day preparation for both home and away teams. Also, whenever Coach Thompson is not available, he will fill in for community events, and interviews/appearances on the teams behalf. |
James Stephens
Athletic Trainer James is a certified athletic trainer, member of NATABOC (National Athletic Trainer Association; Board of Certification) and licensed in the state Kansas and Missouri. He was born and raised in Lawton, Oklahoma and attended Eisenhower High School. After high school, he attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Health Physical Education and Recreation in 2006. While at Oklahoma Panhandle State University he was a four-year letter man in football and one-year letter man in basketball. Stephens later attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University and received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Athletic Training. Stephens is currently employed with The Children’s Mercy Hospital and is the Athletic Trainer at Sumner Academy in Kansas City, Kansas. He is also the Athletic Trainer for the Kansas City Bulldogs (2020 National Champions & 2018 and 2019 MFA Champions) Semi-Pro Football team. |
Delarosa Herbert
Strength & Conditioning Coach Delarosa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from the University of Central Missouri and is currently working on a Master of Science degree in Sports Performance, Concordia University of Chicago. He is a certified ISSA Personal Trainer and Strength Coach (Master trainer); he also has certifications in CPR/AED Certified (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation / Automated External Defibrillator) and ServSafe (food and alcohol safety training). Besides assisting with the KC Sizzlers, Delarosa is currently working as a Personal Trainer at Blue Valley Recreation (Overland Park, KS), and Del-Aire Fitness & Performance Training (Kansas City, MO). |
Scott Kendall
Head Statistician Scott joined the Sizzler organization for the 2019-2020 season. He is a valuable asset to the Sizzlers in game-day data control and statistical analysis. Scott has a degree in sports management from Missouri Western State University. He has also been involved as game-day staff for both the UMKC Lady Kangaroos and Kansas Christian College Falcons men’s and women’s team for several years, and has worked the NAIA national D1 tournament for numerous years. |
